The clarity isn't far off from a "normal" electronic siren, that is when they are outputting an audio signal that isn't limited to 8-bit, like UltraVoice, and ESC-2030 is.

Here is a Modulator 6024B with a smartphone connected to the mic jack playing voice messages and other stuff. It's super clear compared to audio files played directly from the UV.

Except that terrible robotic voice. Bleh. I stopped listening to NOAA Weather Radio when they took real people off of it. Now, it stays on alarm only.

I like both the videos. The sounds don't scare the crap out of me. The voicing quality is top notch!!!!!!!!

We don't have voice sirens on bid currently. That might change in the future. No immediate plans.

I prefer mechanical sirens but I admit that I am beyond impressed. Non wheels electronic sirens often hurt my ears for how sharp they sound but this thing is smoother than butter and clearer than a crystal.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Been a long arse time since i posted anything here tbh, but i have a question. I thought Huntsville was completely against new electronic sirens and went strictly mechanical after the hassle you guys had with the Altec Giant voice system you guys had for your Civil Defense system? unless i am thinking of a completely different city entirely.
According to my signature ive been 16 years old for the past two years.Apparently i have found the Fountain of Youth

Outside of the Modulator 1004s that were installed back in the 90s (since replaced) and UAH's Cooper WAVES sirens (which are owned, maintained, and operated by the university), Madison County/Huntsville is pretty much strictly mechanical at the moment.

Kept getting struck by lighting, blown drivers, and the Altecs in particular had to be completely rewired at least once. Their experience with the Altecs is why the county was turned off from getting many more electronic sirens, and why the Modulator 1004s that were installed were replaced with Model 2s after they both got fried by lightning.

Yeah, the Altec system was linked by phone lines and was a general pain from my understanding. Unfortunately, not many employees that worked with that system are still living or come around anymore.

The original intent with the modulators was to be able to give live voice announcements at Big Spring Park. We actually had a talkgroup on the old City of Huntsville 800 system that was supposed to be used for that purpose, but it never worked. The director at the time chose not to pursue anymore electronic sirens. The only ones that Huntsville and Madison own now are the Whelen (I think 2009s) that are in Limestone County and activated by Limestone EMA but owned 2 by Huntsville and 2 by Madison. Now that Huntsville has a small plot of land that was annexed in Morgan County, that question my one day come up as to what to do there - especially if the area annexed increases or population increases there.
