Whelen Vortex Install Ganesville, GA

Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:33 am

Over winter break, I got to visit Gainesville, GA for the replacement of a Federal Signal Modulator 6048 with a Whelen Vortex R4. The install was done by McCranie Warning Systems and Table Rock Alerting Systems (Stormsetter4). Seeing the whole process really puts into perspective how much effort goes into installing one of these, it took pretty much from morning to evening to install this if you count the initial setup and all. The install was very nicely done and it was neat to see the contrast between an older electronic siren such as the Modulator and a brand new Vortex. I can't thank them enough for showing me around both sirens and answering my questions at the install. Also seen in the video is TrainsAndSirens1 picking up this Modulator for his collection. This was an experience that I will never forget and it will be nice to hopefully see some more installs in the future. Here is the video:

Nice video! I've always been interested in siren installation & maintenance. Cool GMC Topkick too ;)
