American Signal T-121 5PM Test | Decatur, Georgia

Thu Apr 04, 2019 3:38 pm

Here's the monthly test of one of the city of Decatur's recently installed American Signal T-121s. This particular siren located at the entrance to Ebster Pool, right next to the Police Department.

This siren is one of two that were installed in two different parts of town to fill in a couple of gaps when the city replaced their Whelen Vortex rotational electronic sirens. This is one of five ASC T-121s that Decatur has, along with a Whelen Omni-Directional at Agnes Scott college. The previous system of Whelens are now completely gone, with the exception of the aforementioned Omni-Directional Whelen at Agnes Scott.

The sirens in Decatur sound 1 minute of alert for tests and 3 minutes of alert for tornado warnings.

Oh, and in case y'all are wondering, this video was shot on my iPhone 6s, but recorded through the "VHS Camera" app to give it a rather unique and nostalgic look.
