Whelen WPS-3016 | Puyallup, WA (5/6/19)

Tue Aug 13, 2019 11:19 pm

You guys are in for a real treat! Remember my last post where I said the Whelen and Fedelcode in Puyallup were supposedly decommissioned? They still live!

Still sounds as good as ever.

Wonder what happened to it for the few years it was inactive.
I love Yamaha Music Sirens.

As I recall it was never inactive, but the Dispatch Center didn't tone out the sirens on the old system for a while.

Good guess. Though back in August 2016 when I recorded the Fedelcode up the street, it looked like there was some maintenance being done either on or near the Whelen which resulted in it not activating. All other sirens in the system did.

Hmm... did they finally get to the bottom of what was happening with the fedelcode? Bad bearings right?

Negative on that one. It hasn't been touched in years as far as I know.

Hmm. That’s too bad. Also dude... I delivered to a customer in... fife? Tacoma? Somewhere... and there was a 2001 right outside of the facility!
