Why is the T-128 so much more expensive than the Fed 2001? We all know that the sound is much better from the T-128 ,but there has got to be something else that makes it so much more!
Yeah, every siren that is remote-controlled has a two-way communication system. But I don't know whether the 2001 series has a situation-report system.
Or, maybe, it's A. S.C.'s manufacturing techniques.
the t-128 is a much heavier duty setup. it also requires much more equipment. it has more innards and electronics. also as mentioned before it has self-diagnostic capabilities which the 2001 does not have. And further more, the 2001 siren is not nearly as effective at warning as the t-128 is. the 128 has a farther range due to its lower pitch. the 2001's pitch is much too high in my opinion. low pitch soundwaves carry farther than high frequency waves. it should last longer than a 2001. all the 2001 is, is a model 3 chopper spun at a high speed to make more sound. the 128 was specifically designed to produce 128dB without over revving the chopper.
Bringing the joy of siren collecting to the chicago area and more!

Actually the price of a T-128 or 2001 varies with the dealer. Here where I live T-128s with the same basic features (two-way status monitoring, battery backup, ect,...) and installation as the 2001 will cost about $17,000 to 18,000 while the 2001 costs $20,000. So really the better deal here is obviously the T-128.
