Actually they are bells. I didn't know but I thought somebody told me they where whistles.

The Milwaukee road had Prime PM-516 "e-bell" http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=21907

and PM-733 http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/sh ... ma/cat/595. Both are to the right of the horn.

Huh, the infancy of e-bells. Haha.

They've come a long way.

Federal Signal fan wrote:Um... yeah, it does actually count. Rolling stock and all railroad types are welcomed by my standards. I see the "Suspended/Banned" under his name, the reasons I can see are obvious. :|

Continuing on topic, the caboose mount is a very cool idea.

Actually, my avatar Federal STL-10 is around the same distance from the Canadian National Branchline as the 2001, previously posted.

I'm going to dig in my images a bit, I might have one of the Federal 2001 siren by the Norfolk Southern Kankakee West Yard. Next time I go there, I spotted an old STH-10 on the factory/warehouse. Part of Kankakee's old system. (thanks for the the tip off) I plan to get some pictures. :)

Cheers,
Joshua
Yeah, I'm on probation now. And about sirens mounted on rolling stock, rolling stock is part of a train, but they don't power the actual train. (Of course!) But, there were never any official siren mounts on any active railroad rollingstock other than static displays at museums (as shown in the video.)

I wonder as to whether Sarnia has more than just Modulators lined up along its main rail yard; I've heard there were DSAs as well, but I'm not sure. Maybe Mike C knows more on that.

A Federal Signal Model #2 sits atop a pole, at the Boston & Maine Engine House, in East Deerfield, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, ALCO S-1 switcher #1170 awaits her next assignment.

I've only seen one yard around here, In Pontiac, there are 2 Whelen 28XX's at the rail yard north of downtown. They are owned by the railroad company for hazardous material release at the rail yard. I heard they test every monday, but don't know what time. Oakland County OEM never tells me the full story.

Is this the one with broken blower belts, and the city says it is just fine?

Yes, it is. He says they finally fixed it last month, along with a couple other parts in the blower. It's about time. They've been broken since June of '09. There's also another one (1000T) with busted belts, that I went to a few weeks ago, but it didn't activate.
