Re: Trains + Sirens.

Haha that last pic of the MILW was definitely on the Pacific Extension somewhere. Good old electrified Milwaukee Road in MT, ID, & WA. Too bad they didn't put a siren on a boxcab or a Little Joe. That would've been pure awesome.

UP has always had a thing with the biggest and most badass...they have the biggest diesels and the biggest steam. And they outdid the others by putting a siren on the biggest and baddest.

I'm surprised no one has posted the Billups crossing signal that used to be in Granada, MS: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billups_ ... ing_Signal

In my opinion, I think there way too many 2001's in Indiana!

Sorry for bumping a now quite Ancient thread, But I have an interesting pair of sirens I have known about for the longest of time. This Master-Blaster And STH-10 in Reynolds, Georgia is right next to the NS Main there. I have seen these sirens in person and stayed at the Inn to the right of the view. Unfortunately I have never been there for a test( :tired: ), but supposedly BOTH sirens are still active! https://www.google.com/maps/@32.5595212 ... !1e1?hl=en

OHBOY thread bump!

Here's a picture from 1987 or 1988 IIRC. This thunderbolt was at Fire Station 12 near Little 5 Points. A pole is all that remains of it today.

I'll just drop this off right here since this topic came back from the dead. Speaking of dead this one is either dead or was downgraded with a controller from a different siren, as I haven't heard it for the past several months.

Old thread is old.
Was out in Blanchester, Ohio yesterday and couldn't resist an I&O/Model 5 photo.
