What did they do with the MD's? I know they sold the thunderbolts to Cobb county.

No sir. DeKalb's Tbolts went to Cobb, I have no clue what to happened to Atlanta's old ones. I'm 99.9% sure they scrapped them.

O.K. If you know of any sirens in Atlanta I will be going on a hunt there next week and possibly catching a test at Emory.

Sorry to bump this, but I found this in a gubernatorial video for Carl Sanders. I think this is at the state capital building, but I am unsure. The FS sign is to the right of Sanders (black suit).

Sorry to bump this topic, but a good ol' ATL native *cough*Brendan*cough* found a former Model 5 mount.

It's located on top of an abandoned building at the intersection of Alabama & Forsyth.

Yay thread bump. You can shoot me later.

It's finally happened

Me and Will found a CD siren left in the city besides the Altec Lansing setup on the Aarons Building and the Federal Building Thunderbolt. In West Atlanta, at Holly and Andrews, an SD-10 stands. We do not have pictures at the moment, so a screenshot will have to do. Stay tuned for more:

Now that is an awesome find! Definitely going to drop by there and grab some photos next time I'm in Atlanta.
Don't wait. Take a siren photo today.

That'd be cool, however being an Atlanta resident, I'll warn you to be cautious of West Atlanta. That's a very bad area to my understanding. Not trying to derail my own thread here but giving advice.

To make sure we're still on topic, I forgot to post what I think is a Model 2 or 5 tower on Alabama St. Here it is. If there WAS a siren here, it was probably replaced with the 1003 on the Federal Building which is only a handful of blocks away.

What Brendan said.

Being a lifetime ATL resident myself, I'll just say that you'd better watch your back as the SD-10 is not exactly in a safe neighborhood.

West Atlanta, especially places like Bankhead (where the siren is located) are notorious for being crime infested areas.
