I think I found two more air horns on top of this building. They are the two dots in the middle.

I remember my 8th-grade history teacher telling a story to the class and I quote. "Anybody here knows that prison on 5 Mile Rd? You know the abandoned one near the dirt road. Well, here's a story. So when I was in middle school in Plymouth, we were out on recces, and the teachers would be out there smoking and drinking their coffees and then the prison sirens for that prison went off. And then the teachers said angstly "aright class. Get inside.". I only sorta remember the story he told us and the teacher was pretty old and I'd say he went to middle school around the early 70s late 60s roughly. Now I exactly knew the prison he was talking about. It was really close to my house in fact the suburbs being built around the prison was basically the whole reason the prison was shut down, to begin with as there was a brand new school at the time being built and I guess we can't have crazy lunatics out near an elementary school can we. The prisons that were there were the Detroit House of Corrections (DEHOCO) and the Robert Scott Correctional Facility. So after school that day, I tried to find as much info about the so-called prison system around Metro Detroit. Not much abrought me but I do believe I have found some of the sirens of the old system. I also believe not many people know about the old system as not much is brought up about it but what I do know is the system consisted of an STH-10 and mainly Model 5s.

Here is DEHOCO and the rusted STH-10. Throughout the whole time, my family has driven through here, I've never noticed that siren.

Most likely old prison siren. Funny story couple years back I went to this siren thinking it would work and I was basically filming a siren that hasn't worked since 2004

Other known siren. Hard to make out but there's a Model 5 above the graffiti. The building was also one of Michigan's most popular abandoned buildings too.

Those are the only Sirens I know of from the old system. There are probably way more sirens lost to time out there. All of the prisons were demolished including the abandoned hospital. So the only remnant is that one Model 5. and for a fact, the Model 5 is not a tornado siren as a 2001-130 is not even a minute walk away. Only if I known about that STH-10, I would have grabbed it off there. When I used to go to the middle school that was very close to the siren, my bus would pass the siren and I would always look at the siren's chopper and to no surprise, the chopper's position never changed. The bus would also pass the 2001-130. I'd always look at the siren when I would ride the bus home too. To this day that one siren is still there, rusting away and forgotten like the system of Los Angeles. I guess since no one has talked about the prison sirens being tested, not even locals knew when they were tested, I'd assume they were tested on the 1st Saturday to blend in with the other sirens I guess. Or maybe not. . . Cities that probably had the sirens would probably be Northville, Plymouth, Novi, maybe Canton?, Maybe Livonia? and maybe Worden?. . .

Bumpity-bump. Something in delaware has 2 Vortex R4s that replaced a model 5. Also, one of the prisons in Jessup, MD has 2 or 3 Thunderbolt 1000ATs that might still be active, but one has not rotated since 2016.

The Limestone County Correctional Facility has an ATI or E-class siren in front of it next to a Whelen 3016 that's mounted absurdly high.
There's also a jail in south Alabama with a Master Blaster siren at it.
Since this thread was bumped again, I wanted to ask if you had a picture or a street view link where the sirens are visible.

If jails count as prisons then the Pinellas County Jail in FL has an ex-St. Petersburg, FL 1959 Thunderbolt 1000A atop one of the main buildings in the facility. You can see a video of it here: https://youtu.be/N63sir283Rs
