Re: The Colony, TX P-50 Update

Sun Jan 08, 2017 10:06 pm

I got an email from the Fire Chief about a year ago. He said it wasn't the Griffin Middle School construction that determined the replacement. He said they had been meaning to replace it. The new 508 kinda sucks. I was in the Colony and they went off. I later researched I was half a mile from the 508 and half a mile from a 2001-SRNB. I heard the 2001-SRNB much more clear than the 508 and that was after the 508 was fixed of its rotation issues. The P-50 was a great siren, in fact THE siren to get me into this hobby. First siren I'd ever heard. It has officially been 2 years 1 month and 16 days since the replacement of the P-50. The 508 was installed in late August 2014. The test of the P-50 was so awesome! The 508 was hooked up to power in October around the same time the P-50 roared its last (November). So sad. :(

When the P-50 still had power.

Andy said he offered it to Sweetwater,TX for 10,000$ But they wanted a warranty and if he did sell it to them he would have to rebuild the 50HP motor
