Interesting Siren Modifications

Sat Jul 25, 2015 8:27 pm

I am always intrigued when I see some of the fun stuff people do to their sirens, I posted a Streetview the other day of a Federal 2T22 in West Carthage, NY that was wrapped in a canvas tarp. I thought maybe this would be a fun topic showing some of the interesting modifications that have been done, I will start it off with this Darley from the Beale Township Fire Department in Walnut, Pa (not overly far from where Justie1120 lives). Apperently the motor burned out on this thing so they reached into the Harry Homeowner U-Fix-It box and came up with this solution LOL

If Fargo has one that'd be news to me...

There were three towns out in the Colby area that had rigged Allertors like you mentioned - Menlo, Levant, and Gem. I found an empty mount and an OA-3 when I visited Menlo's, and I didn't go through Levant at all, but I do have a photo of the one I stumbled across in Gem on the way to their STH-10...

All three of them point towards the town, and were likely put up to warn of an accident involving whatever agricultural chemicals they store in the co-op tanks.
Don't wait. Take a siren photo today.

Wow! That's something new. Looks low mounted too.

Oh yes, very much so. Allow me to share another photo of the entire setup and its surroundings...

Certainly a very interesting homegrown install. I'd love to hear it in action someday.
