Hey I'm not sure whether or not this counts as "Central" Florida or not, but if anyone knows anything about sirens around Ormond Beach and Daytona, I would love some information. My grandfather lives there and I'd like to know where I could find some sirens next time I'm visiting.

Tampa siren locations according to a 1955 article and Facebook posts:

Hillsborough County Courthouse
Plant High School/San Jose and Himes
Westshore Elementary
Corner of MacDill and Interbay Ave.
Coliseum, Davis Island
Corner of Dale Mabry and Carmen
Columbus Dr. and Armenia (cigar factory)
Fire Station 7 Giddens and Tallaferro St. (in the later path of I-275)
Fire Station 8 401 S. Albany Ave.
Drew Park area
N. Florida and Waters Ave.
Grey St. north of Kennedy Blvd.

The article mentions Thunderbolts but also references medium sized sirens at some locations. Also may have been a few more locations. A poster on Facebook said there was a T-Bolt on Grey St. north of Kennedy Blvd. and another article referenced one in the Clair-Mel area.

So it looks like Pinellas Park got its T-Bolt in 1961. It was on the west side of Pinellas Park elementary school.

It sounds like St. Petersburg's last T-Bolt may be going away.

A proposal is on the table to sell the Municipal Services building to a developer who will more than likely demolish the 11 story building on Central Avenue.

Well, I'm glad I have my photos of it, even if they aren't that good.

By the way, here's a photo of the Thunderbolt at Henry B Plant High School in 1970.
