Some Sirens From Today and a Whelen Question

Sun Oct 09, 2016 2:10 am

Went down to EKU for an open house today, got some siren pictures along the way.

First up we have this... thing... in Lexington. I don't really know if I should call it a W-S2008, but at the same time maybe I should. Any ideas?

Then I saw this 2001-SRN in Georgetown. Not much to say here other than the lighting was nice:

Then I went to Sadieville to see their 2001-SRNB. On the way out of town I spotted a Darley Champion on top of a small shelter. Looks to me as if it does a noon blast of some sort:

Conduit from the siren went into these boxes. Perhaps one's a timer?

That's about it.

WS-2008 would be an apt name for that Whelen. It's strange, I've never seen a 2000 series unit with less than four speaker arrays. That Darley looks huge sitting atop that pavilion. I'd guess it's one of the six-port sirens with the motor on top.
