Siren someone should get a recording of this siren!

Fri Jun 15, 2018 2:10 am

While working on my US Siren Map, I found the Eldora Speedway in New Weston, OH. I thought there was a Model 5 at the race track, but then I found what I believed to be a Whelen OmniAlert OA-1. After geting some confirmation, I found out it was the rare Whelen WPS-2901 with a Type 2 cabinet on it! I think it would be cool if someone got a recording of it. Trust me, if I lived near the siren, you wouldn't be seeing this post. I know there are lots of siren enthusiest out that way. I guess I should say, who whats to be the first person to record a Whelen WPS-2901!

Here's the Google Eart Street View of the siren if your interested:

Not to burst your bubble, but I've known about this little guy for quite a while. Darke County has a few hidden gems, including this and a factory yellow 2001. A recording is planned in the future, as it has been on our bucket list for a while.

I can’t wait to see it. We have an OmniAlert OA-1 up here in Northeast Ohio; which is also something of a hidden gem as well.
