Some active sirens in LA

Fri Aug 03, 2018 6:50 am

For those of you in the Los Angeles area, there are several Modulator 6024s at the Exxon Mobil refinery in Torrance. They use a different attack tone than any other modulator Ive seen. Also theyre tested on the first Wednesday of the month at 11am.

Locations... Unfortunately these are the only two I have found but here they are:

There is in total 3 Modulator 6024s at the Torrance refinery installed in probably 2002. I do not know what controller they run off of since their not mounted on the bottom of their poles ,but its either a UV or MC that has a custom attack tone. Its defiantly not an MCP because dual tone MCPs sound different. But anyways those Mods aren't the only active sirens in LA county ,there is a T-128 in Azusa that replaced believe or not an E-57! As well as a system of 6 ACA P-15s at the Pitchess detention center Castaic. There is a 4/5 port Thunderbolt 1000T at LA county FD Station 159 that is still hooked up to power and a friend of mine got to growl it but the rotator and blower are busted  And I don't know if it will be fixed or not since I don't thin the station uses it for fire calls.

I pass that penetrator in castaic when I go to magic mountain! Are there tsunami sirens near the harbor in the south? Santa Monica? And prison sirens in San bernaghetto or something?
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Yeah I know but there isnt only T-128s in that system. There are 2 2001-SRNs and 6 T-128s. And I do live in OC ,but their is also 3 T-128s in Newport beach ,52 Whelen 2810s and 2806s apart of the SONGS plant which the 2810s replaced the siren that is my avatar and the 2806s replaced STL-10s. There was a Thunderbolt 1000T that used to be at Juarez park in Anaheim but its long gone now. There is also a Thunderbolt 1000AT and housingless Model 5 in Buena park ,and a Thunderbolt 1000T that used to be in Brea. As for Riverside county which is a city next to mine ,there is 4 2001-SRNBs at the California institution for men and an RM-130 at the California Institution for women. Both are located in Chino.

There’s also an active model 5 on Catalina. Its just like the ones that used to be in the LA CD system.
