Who to talk to for getting a siren?

Sat Aug 11, 2018 5:53 pm

So theres this inactive Model 2 located at, https://www.google.com/maps/@39.4668677 ... 312!8i6656
and its missing its shroud. I went there the other day to just go check it out and see it and I was wondering if I could get it. So who should i talk to for asking how i can get this siren? It's just kinda mounted in the trees all abandoned... So yeah just wondering who should I talk to for getting this siren.

First things first, I'd recommend going out there to see it and make sure the siren itself is still there. Once confirmed, I'd try to see what town/municipality the siren is in and send an email to either the mayor or public works about the siren. I'm no expert, but I'd make an offer of about 100-150 due to the condition and the lack of a housing. The main difficulty would be getting it down, despite the siren weighing only 50 pounds.

Another alternative of getting a siren for yourself is to go to siren graveyard, which is West Shore Services that we're all familiar with, look for a working / repairable siren of your choice and buy it. You need to talk to the Graveyard owner first before you buy.

There's dozens of Siren Graveyards around the US. If you're lucky enough, you'll find a P-50 or an EOWS-1212. Good luck bringing and running a P-50, that thing is even larger than a Peel P-50 and really power hog. You could mutate it to have a Mobil Directo chopper if you have some tinkerer skills.

So far I found none.

It's the best to ask the 'Higher Council' members. I'm from Malaysia, not the US. No siren graveyards around me, just having an ambition to own a Thunderbolt 1000T and set foot near one of the sirens around me to take footage of it.

Siren is part of the Joppa-Magnolia Fire Department system, it used to have the shroud on it and than one day it blew off and was gone. That is who you would need to contact, it is one of their satellite fire sirens which they may or may not know exists LOL. There are no siren graveyards in our area unless you count my storage barn LOL
