How to find history on Siren

Mon Aug 20, 2018 8:05 pm

Hello All!

I have been asked if I can find the history on a Thunderbolt 1000T that was just taken down. We would like to know when it was manufactured and anything else I can learn about it. Can you guide me in the right direction?

Thanks

If you can get a photo of the name plate on the rotator box or blower box that would give us enough information to narrow down it's date of manufacture. As far as when it was installed goes, it could be as easy as googling "*insert city name here* siren, newspaper, archives". This is usually how this information is obtained. Generally in those days everything was put in the local newspaper. Including siren installations. You may also take a trip to the local library and sift through archives they may have. Happy hunting!
