Thanks for all those tips, Christian!

Unfortunately I won't be able to capture any Illinois Alertronic for this month's test. Shooting for January. Although I will give the chemical facility a call to see if they test at a time I could visit.

It's easiest for me to record on weekends, so I'll have to research all of those locations to see if I'm lucky enough for them to test on a weekend. But I think it will definitely be worth it to take some time off work to capture some of these based on how rare they seem to be. I also saw there's an AL-4000 in Bloomington, WI that apparently does a noon blast, so hopefully I'll be able to make it to that as well.

So far I've recorded 9 sirens:

FS Thunderbolt - Racine, WI
FS STH10 - Hudson, IL
Sentry 15V2T - Le Roy, IL
ACA Banshee 115 - Kenosha, WI
ACA P50 - Morrison, IL
FS 2T22 - Emden, IL
FS Type B - Sheffield, IL
GCS Model 5 - Union Grove, WI
FS STL-10 - Waterman, IL

I also attempted to record the following sirens, but they both failed (on the same day!)

ASC RM-130 - Menomonee Falls, WI (Fire Dept.)
ACA P15 - Port Washington, WI (Elementary)

Anyhow, I'm not quite ready to upload all of those. However, if there are any I listed that you all would like to hear, I can make those more of a priority. You all have been a great help and I'd love to share.

For a classic experience, I definitely recommend going over to Abilene, Kansas. They had 3 Federal Signal 500 SH-TTs that are 10/12 port. Last year one of them was removed for some reason. I suspect that it was taken down for repairs or something of the sort, since a Model 2 was put in place and is using the 500's controller. Any who, they have 2 other units that are close to each other. There is one just off the interstate and there is another one to the south of that one. I'd probably go to the one to the south to keep car noise down a little bit.

Unit by the interstate:
38°56'28.46" N 97°12'51.67" W

Unit to the south of it:
38°55'50.12" N 97°12'41.63" W

Unit that was taken down, that might be back in service by now:
38°55'18.11" N 97°12'16.11" W

Here is an aerial view of them. I have circled the 2 units that are confirmed to still be up and active.

My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you want to go for some ambience effect between the two Federal 500's, the street between the two is Buck eye or Hwy. 15. All along Buckeye on both sides of the street are businesses with ample parking areas....as an example just South of 21st. Street on the East side of Buckeye....I think the symbol is an automotive repair shop just South of the Knife and Fork symbol on the East side of Buckeye.
