Possibly New Tornado Sirens In Nashville,TN

Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:31 am

Well, if you haven't heard, Nashville TN is debating on getting new sirens. The city leaders in Nashville said that the sirens we're outdated, even though they are using one of the newest model of sirens by Federal Signal (Eclipse 8's and a few 508's). This all started when Nashville got put under a Tornado Warning a few weeks ago, and they couldn't get the sirens to shut off. The sirens ran for a total of eighteen minutes. This has not been the first time Nashville has had problems with there outdoor sirens. We'll see what happens!

They're not replacing the sirens. They're looking to upgrade the activation and radio system. The news articles around Nashville aren't doing a wonderful job articulating that.
