XT22?

Wed Feb 16, 2022 8:51 pm

Hi, I was just wondering, what is an XT22. I have heard of the 2t22 and the 3t22. And I like to call the STH-10 a single tone 2t22 because it only has 1 rack of cones. But what is an XT22. Please leave your reply down below because I really want to know. Ps, I cant find what an XT22 is anywhere.

XT22 is not a siren itself. It is a generic phrase used to describe a siren that is not confirmed so it could be either a 2T22 or 3T22.

siren fan explained it perfectly. XT22 is simply what people put when they don't know if it's a 2T22 or 3T22.

There have been times where I've gone hunting for sirens on Google Maps Streetview and the potato-quality images prevent me from seeing if the siren has solenoid/damper boxes or not. I can make out that it's a Federal Signal something-T22, but that's it. In that case, I just put in X as a placeholder until I or someone else gets better pictures of the siren and proves whether it's a 2T22 or 3T22.

That's really all it is. 'XT22' is not itself a siren model, it's simply a name for the entire family of 2T22 & 3T22 sirens.
