AL Questions

Thu Nov 14, 2019 1:50 pm

I was wondering whats up with this AL line. Ive been digging and the sirenboard wiki says they are still made but not shown on ASC's site. Is this true and also what happened to the AL-5000?

It's outdated info. The AL/Alertronic series was discontinued in the mid-2000's and was replaced by newer I-Force and to a lesser extent, although I would consider it to be a direct replacement, the E-Class. The rotating siren with four throats, AL-4000R/RE-1600/AR-1600/*fill in the blank here*, was discontinued a little earlier than the other sirens I think. It didn't make much sense to keep the rotating unit around when the T-128 was pretty much equal to it in terms of output.

As far as the Alertronic 5000 is concerned a few units were made and sold, but ACA switched to the Alertronic 6000 soon afterwards due to the 5000's design. It was a big siren that could catch the wind pretty easily. They streamlined the design with the 6000. Ultimately the change made for a better siren.
