Some South Dakota Discoveries

Wed May 27, 2020 10:51 pm

I was doing some Google Earth siren hunting and I made a couple of interesting discoveries.

Whelen WS-2000-20/2020 at Winner, SD:
43°22'30.02"N, 99°51'15.26"W

What looks to be an ATI or ASC E-Class on the satellite imagery at Mission, SD (there is no Street View in the area). Replaced an XT22, whatever it is:
43°18'19.32"N, 100°39'35.45"W
Siren and railroad enthusiast

Residing in Silver Lake, Indiana, home of two FS 2001-130s and a mystery siren.

Nice finds!
I have a thing for objects that light up or make noise.

South Dakota is not well mapped when it comes to sirens, so thanks for those locations.

I am currently making a map of the SD sirens.
I still post here, but not as much as I used to.
Casual enthusiast who lives in the natural state of Arkansas.
Hoping to get a siren someday...
Not the brightest mind, but getting there.
