Interesting photo!
Is that a railraod track in the photo?
If you're referring to that little bridge over the water, that's a walkway to connect the Library to the Park. Otherwise, there's no railroad track in that photo.

Here's one that's pretty high up. And before anyone asks me, yes, this is a roof mounted Penatrator 50.

There is a Thunderbolt at 2:31, which has to be one of the highest mounted sirens I've ever seen.

Here's a really high mounted one thats next to the 1003 at the water company on Frankfort Ave. Its a Whelen 4004 as mentioned on the Louisville Ky pictures thread shot by me. Its up on a 75-80Ft pole where the Tbolt is platform mounted low to the ground as seen in my second photo.

Here is a whelen that looks to be pretty high up, as well as on a hill.

Regarding the whelen pic-was that taken in Ft. Worth, TX by chance? I think they mount theirs pretty high up on concrete polls if I'm not mistaken.

Don't forget about this one. This P-50 was on top of Wauwatosa's 5+ story recycling center/garbage transfer building. Sadly the siren was removed when the building caught fire in 2006. The building is still around, but the siren is now a shiny new ASC T-135AC/DC. It's northeast of the bulding on a pole tall enough to clear the top of the nearby obstruction. The pole's 60-80 feet tall! I'll get a pic of it some time soon.

if you use MSN live maps, using birds eye view, you can see the chrysler siren next to the water tower. Very cool, it looks yellow.
