That is actually a Federal Lion. The horns are like that of the lion, and it has the hoods of a Lion. I think that you're "Model 1" is actually a W.S. Darley Model 2.
You could be right about the Model 1 being a darley 2, but it seems kinda of small for a model 2.Too blurry to tell although and I dont think the possible HOR is a Federal Lion. Federal Lions are not actually a model of siren, I'm pretty sure they are just some form of Type B since shrouds on a Type B vary so much, I'm thinking its either a Sterling or HOR. The mystery model 1 could also be a Darley 5TT.

Sure looks like a Sterling. None of the outlines or horns really look like a HOR. Nice find, though.

How would that thing be a 5TT?! Those things are much bigger than a 1/2. It could be a GCS Model 2...
Also, the "Lion" is a model of siren, the official name is "Federal Fire Siren". It isn't a B, I have seen two Type B's. They have cone-shaped horns, and the Lion has a Sterling-like horn, but it is straighter. I honestly doubt that it is a HOR. I don't believe that there are any HORs with those hoods. It might be a sterling, but I doubt it.

That "HOR" is a Sterling M-10. The horns on Super Sirex's are longer, and they don't curve up. It could be a Model B (they aren't called Lions, that's a misnomer), but I think I can make out the mount which only Sterling's have. And also that supposed Model 1 is indeed a Darley Model 2.

I remember someone made the same mistake on another forum but in reverse. They found a 40HP sirex and thought it was a sterling. I found it while researching the Deer Park sterling

Here's the link to the other guy who made the same mistake.

Think we ought to band together and publish a siren spotting guide.

Yes! Thank you!
Maybe in addition to a spotting guide, we should have a common misconceptions guide.
