Really??? I can never here that!! It seems like the allertor drowns
out everything.

Yes, you probably can here the RM-130 at the FD, as it is
only a half of a mile from my house, which is where
this allertor is.

usually when the Allertor is doen, you can here one of Inverness's
2001s VERY clearly.

Dear Gil:
I think I'm a little more well versed in electricity than you. I do believe the problem is in the slip ring contactor. Contacts get dirty all the time. the debris depending on what it is dust, dirt, bugs or corrossion (most likely due to our weather) is very well capable of getting under the slip rings. I change out switch contacts all the time due to poor contact. By the way I work for ComEd. I work with 12,000 volts on a regular basis. So I AM more knowledgeable than you in the electrical field. Second I do know how sirens and slip rings work. I own one. Do you? Or do you just video tape them? Next time you decide to insult my intelligance know what you are talking about and to whom you are speaking. You are not the final word on sirens or electricity on this board!
Sincerely,

Sorry for the confusion, but i was not directing that toward you, but to SirenMadness.

You work for ComEd? thats cool!

Yes, it was probably a bug or something in there.

This Allertor is fairly new. it was installed in 1991. The only problem
it has ever had which was a broken rotator last year, which tried to turn but it kept struggling, then something finally broke and it stood still.

it was repainted in mid 2004, so they probably cleaned it out or soemthing..
