If anyone is curious i know this was posted on the old board but i emailed federal signal asking if they still made the EOWS 612 siren and they replied saying they still make it

They still make the STH-10 too. But all of this is in very limited quantities, and probably for the organizations that still trust them allot. But the E.O.W.S. series isn't very inefficient either.

As Peter told you they do make the EOWS 612* but only upon special request. And yes the STH10 is also coming to an end, and will probably be made upon special request to quite sometime in the future. I got an email saying they will be gone in 2007 being replaced by the Eclipse8 siren. However they gave me the impression, parts will still be available.

Speaking of parts, this gives me the sense that they're doing this for organizations too poor to afford a new siren by Federal Signal.

I doubt it. Most likely it wouldn't do very hot because of the maintence required, and no battery backup. The 2001 kicks the Thunderbolt in the rear for that.

Because it was just as loud as the STH-10, with two rotors. And you don't need a dual-tone sound, anymore, to signal a community-wide threat. I personally hate the fact that they stopped making the dual-head model.
