Siren Maps of Oklahoma City and Surrouding Areas

Wed May 17, 2006 1:29 am

After recently having been down to Norman to check out the University of Oklahoma, I did some research on the sirens in some of the towns in and around Oklahoma City. The three maps I found from were from Emergency Management websites or siren installers and were "professionally" done. I'm sure there are others out there for the OKC area but these were the ones that I know of so far. The cities include Norman, Moore, Edmond, and Oklahoma City. I'll keep searching for more maps and information on the systems around there. If you know of any from actual EMA sites or from the cities themselves, please add them.

Does anybody know the models for the cities of Norman, Edmond, and Midwest City, as some of you might know i have a running siren map database of more then 500+ locations of sirens throughout the United States and Canada. Right now i am working on the sirens in Kansas City, MO

Yes, I took a ton of Norman photos a while back. There is a list on their city website of locations, but they are all Thunderbolt 1000Ts, SD-10s, and newer ACA T-121s. A pretty nice combination, and they produce a lovely harmony during the testing.

Yes, they do have a very nice system, sound wise. A few sirens you missed though are the T-128 (maybe you meant that with T-121) and the Thunderbeam. I know of a few location with a Thunderbeam or a T-128. The sirens you see in the far eastern reaches of the city are T-128s. I'll upload some photos later tonight and post them for you guys.
