Siren Testing

Thu May 18, 2006 2:14 am

Hello community,
The City of Post has decided to test the sirens next week. I'm not sure what day or time, probably Thursday. Also the rural town of Southland will be testing it's ACA Allertor. I've attached a poll for the siren recording. BTW does anybody know if I could get permission from the sherrif's office to blast my T-bolt? Or if I can blast my T-bolt during the testing?

I'd say get a recording with multiple sirens sounding at once. I know I have, and I'm sure many others have, liked hearing the multiple tones of different sirens mix together during a test or warning. I'm sure many of us remember the video of the Sentry siren sounding along with the 2t22 and the nice harmonics associated with the two.

When making this type of recording, my guess would be to strategically place yourself in a central location between a couple of sirens, free from any structures which might block their path of sound towards you. I'm not the expert on sound but this would seem like the most logical way to accomplish this.

I agree.

And with the test, it seems that the Tbolt would go unnoticed (and if it was noticed, they wouldn't care... it is a testing period, for God's sakes...)

But I would check with authorities on it beforehand, just in case your town has a stuck up nutcase for a head of emergency operations.

If you can get a good recording of multiple sirens, I'd like to hear it. My second vote would be for the 3/2T22.
Beware those who teach not how to think, but what to think.

I say, go with the multiple siren system.
I'd really like to hear the multiple system.
The thing I like about a multiple-unit recording is the wind-down; the harmonics are amazing.

OK. So far as you can see multiple is winning. I'd be glad to do that. By the way it looks, you will get more 10V then anything. But I like our little Sentry..its right down the street from me! :P :D Five Federals and one Sentry?
Oh and heres what sirens they are ect..:
