2t22 without horns

Thu May 18, 2006 10:58 am

does a 2t22 sound the same without the horns? How much of a db difference would there be? does'nt look like the small horns would help much.

The 2T22 would sound less sharp without the horns. I think the difference in decibels would be around four decibels lower. The horns helpm plenty.

I think you mean more sharp. The horns definitely mellow out the tone, while at the same time focusing the sound to a horizontal plane, which improves the coverage area--more sound power aimed at where it's needed.

But if you were at the axis, you would get a much smoother sound.
However, you're right, if beside siren, you would get a sharper tone.
