The Gary, IN Thunderbolt

Tue Dec 14, 2010 11:57 am

I just saw this recently on the web and does anyone know if this Thunderbolt works anymore? Is it a 1000T or 1000? Does Gary test the siren? Does anyone know when the T-bolt was put up?

It appears to be in different positions in both images, so it probably is still used, unless the position changed from something else. I Googled Gary, Indiana sirens and Lake County, Indiana sirens and couldn't find anything.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Gary does not have a working siren system anymore. Then again, they don't have much that works anymore.

As of today 12/30/10, I was told from a Youtube user that Gary also has
another Thunderbolt that's on the Edison School, but has been decommisioned for awhile now. Also the downtown Thunderbolt is still in use and is in different positions, although testing time in unknown.

The one at the Edison School is on 5th Ave. and Burr St.

Bump but this siren was removed by City Roofing earlier this year. It is most likely in a scrap yard
