Laredo, TX Ghost System

Mon May 24, 2021 4:10 pm

I've seen multiple documentations of Laredo's system- photos, locations, pretty much everything except for map and video. When I drop into GSV in the said locations, I find nothing. No sirens, no satellite, no nothing. The makers of the TX map are as confused as I am. Does anyone know what is up with this system? There are no documents saying that the system was inactive or removed.

Street view is from 2012, satellite view might be old as well.

But the DCs have to have been installed before 2012. The DC that is supposedly on the hospital is not visible but the new 130 that replaced it was not in the SV making me think the DC should have still been there.
Not all of the SVs are from 2012.

Unless the sirens were installed and removed in the amount of time between the streetview, I can't think of any other options except for that this is made up information.

I've searched stuff up on google, trying to do some research, even checked their official site, and it says nothing about sirens. Pretty sure they use CodeRed or something similar.

I asked the fire dept and they do not have a siren system. That poster lied for whatever weird reason they had.

That's strange and a little weird. At least that clears it up for us. I wonder why the poster thought they could lie like that.
Anyways, maybe one day, like Lubbock, they will come to their senses and install sirens

pardon the 'barely sufficient' info & confusion; but I needed to correct the info

According to my mother (she lived in Laredo during her younger yrs before my siblings & I were born) Laredo USED TO have sirens (she couldn't remember what they looked like or their locations) but I assume those were Civil Defense-era sirens (most likely removed around late 1970s/early 1980s?) After they married they moved to OH around 1968

I found a City of Laredo city council meeting documents from around 1997-98 which mentioned the City planned to purchase sirens (the document didn't specify make/model of sirens)

So Laredo, San Antonio & Corps Cristi currently have NO sirens at this time

Maybe I need to be more through & post the correct info
