Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm still desperately seeking information on these. Here are the recordings from today of the only known SMR-15 that we know of:

As you can see it's in pretty rough shape.
This is a 12 port siren.
This siren most likely uses a belt driven rotator like the P-15's, and this one most likely has a worn belt. I bet it's an easy fix, but the city doesn't know that. Probably because there is no information on these at ALL.
According to the brochure on the first page of this topic, this model puts out 128dB at 100'. That is questionable, because Thunderbolts are louder by ear than this thing was.
The models in Okmulgee still are unknown models. I checked the boxes when I was there this summer but didn't see anything.
I read an ancient post last night from a former user that there was a
CTI northeast of Tulsa right off the interstate. I've looked on Google before, but I didn't find a single siren right off the interstate.
If you know of any locations that I don't, please let me know so I can see if I can record them.
The
CTI model in Okmulgee is next on my 'must record' list. I believe they test on Wednesdays, because that's what my mom remembers when she was there as a kid. If you have any information, let me know. And hurry before the remaining two get replaced.
