1. The Allertor was replaced in 2009. Interesting story though, the first T-128 that replaced it was knocked down by the pastor of Temple Baptist Church with a bobcat, because he didn't like it being so close to the church. The Allertor was farther back. So Springdale bought another T-128, and the church had to pay $25,000 for damaging the first one. The 2nd T-128 was installed in the same location as the first one, and I guess the pastor is putting up with it.

2. Have you even seen the EOWS 612 in person? I know it malfunctioned when Jpressman8 tried filming it, but he says that the last time he saw it, it was pointed in a different direction, and that broken guy wire was fixed. And yes it does have an ASC RTU box on it.
nice story about the T128  But somebody who was a guide at fernald told me the 612 didnt work anymore and it was the last 612 there.

How long ago was it you were told by that person? It could be possible that it's not working. I believe it was installed somewhere between 1996-2001 to replace a 1212 that was on the water tower at the plant, because when I look at an aerial image of the plant in 1996, the 612 isn't there, but in 2001, it's there.

"The last 612 there"? There has never been more than one 612 in Hamilton County to my knowledge, and the old 1212s in Hamilton County are still standing as well (to my knowledge anyway - it's been a while since I've been out that way). I believe there's at least one 1212 remaining in Butler County as well, though most of the ones in that county were replaced with T-128s a couple years back.

Does Anyone Know.....

Wed Sep 07, 2011 4:12 pm

If for some odd reason the 1000 on top of Western Hills High school had it's chopper replaced?? I listened to the sirens just now at home and it sounded like what used to be the 1000 had a 1000T sounding in it's place. The 1000T was quite loud at chopper level 3 and at the same volume and direction that the 1000 sounds at. If they did switch choppers, why would it get changed so close to being replaced??

I could also just be loosing my mind.

It could have happened at some point while you were living in Arizona, or maybe at the time it was repaired, they weren't sure how long it would take to be replaced.

I will be recording it from the parking lot where Fitworks is located.
I remember having the misfortune of being in SA when the T-bolt was being tested around 2006. Let me just say this - sound really carries from the roof down in an old factory!

How'd it go? I have no idea if it still worked.

Yes it does still work. I messaged SIRENMAN last night to be sure and he told me that to his knowledge it worked.

The video is being uploaded to YOUTUBE now.

Was there some sort of malfunction with the Harrison Avenue/Filview Circle T-128? The reason that I am asking is that after the test on 9/7 I went past it and it was facing towards the new Christ Hospital Medical Center Site. However, when I drove past it today, it was facing towards Filview Circle.

I could be wrong however.

Thanks!
