Dublin, OH Fedelcode Model 2

I found a Fedelcode Model 2 on the roof of the Bridge Street Firehouse at the corner of Bridge Street and Mill in downtown Dublin, OH.


You can see the Fedelcode tag on the bottom-left of the siren.

It looks to be in pretty good condition but for the rust. Definitely no longer in use as Dublin is chocked full of Squealen WPS-2905's. I may call the city and see if I could buy it off 'em. They certainly don't appear to need it anymore. Is this siren usually a single-phase or 3-phase? Fedelcode Model 2 is one of the oldest sirens and was made not after but BEFORE WWII from around 1915 to around 1944 (not a Cold War-era siren). If anyone has information about if FC Model 2 is single-phase or 3-phase it would be greatly appreciated!

It's single phase most likely 240VAC but possibly could be 120VAC. I don't think the model 2 was ever a 3 phase

A fairly rare find isn't it? A youtube search for Fedelcode Model 2 Yields first 1 or two relevant results, then a bunch of Fedelcode Model 5 and Model 7 stuff and then a whole lot lot of FS Model 2 stuff.

Just FYI, the Dublin Police Dept. is in charge of the current Whelen system so you could ask them. You could also ask the owner of the building which is now privately owned.

It was used to call the volunteer fire dept. together for fire runs.

I had a cousin who was an volunteer fire fighter there, 25 or 30 years ago.
If i remember right, it sounded in alert back then.
