Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Unless you want to take a risk I would go with something that you know is going to go off, unless you want to try a siren that may or may not go off.

Another thing you could consider is that the sirens is Hamilton County are older and are going away, the newer sirens will be there for awhile longer and you may have other opportunities to get them. You may be taking more of a risk but you could still try.

Just a thought.

In many cases, yes. For example, the power station near my house has a Thunderbolt that's been disconnected and a T128 that hasn't been hooked up yet.

I haven't heard of any widespread failures. They might have just cancelled the tests due to weather, or certain national holidays. I'd say go with something local.

I'm sorry, I only thought they were only doing these installations and such. I had no idea that ANS would continue work for Hamilton County years into the future, especially since they aren't conveniently located closeby. Please forgive me.

Anderson, actually. The last time I tried to record it was around 2006.

You can record the T128 on Salem Road, as I think it's hooked up and operative. See my photos a few posts back.

I saw the Thunderbolt and 128 at the power station on Memorial Day, and I noticed that the Thunderbolts head looks a little tilted like it is about to fall off of the pole.

Yep! That's what it's like with all of the 2001-SRN's in my neighborhood. But instead f the head leaning, it's the whole dang pole!

When I talked with the chief of the fire station on Salem a few years back (who also gave me a siren map), he said it was nothing to worry about. It's been that way for quite some time.
