Hey everyone! I missed the growl, but other than that today was a success. Also, Newports MOD's test in alternate wail!

I couldn't film anything today since I'm in New York. Amtrak3501 went to Hamilton again to film the Thunderbolt 1000T at St. Ann's Church. Maybe because of the test being cancelled for July, Butler County forgot that today was testing day! So he called, and they sounded their sirens at 12:17. Also, the blower is burned up.

That's interesting. Last time I heard them test (sometime last year), they did Westminster Chimes. Glad to hear they've changed that now, though it's not really a huge deal as the Thunderbolt on top of the Park Place at Lytle complex across the river pretty much drowns them out anyway.

Siren Project

Fri Aug 03, 2012 2:13 am

Here is some information on the siren project. I have been told that 10% of the sirens are still not working or not hooked up. The project deadline was March 1st 2012. It will be 1 year as of August 5th 2012.

Hey guys! Today (Aug. 26, 2012) I will be going out on an Ohio siren hunt. I will start by going to Calhoun Hall at UC and get the universities T-Bolts. Does anyone have any sirens they would like me to visit?

Also, does anyone have a map of Clermont counties sirens, or some locations or something?

Here's a list I came up with from a virtual siren hunt in Clermont County a couple years ago...

Model 5:
On top of Amelia Elementary (5 East Main Street)
On top of the fire station in New Richmond (100 East Market Street)
On top of the fire station in Bethel (149 North East Street)
On a shed behind the Pierce Township fire department (950 Locust Corner Road, Cincinnati)
On top of the Union Township fire station in Withamsville (855 Ohio Pike)
On top of the Union Township fire station in Eastgate (718 Cincinnati-Batavia Pike)
On a pole behind the Wayne Township fire station in Newtonsville (797 SR 131)

Allertor:
Behind the Batavia fire department (335 East Main Street)

2001:
At the Williamsburg Township hall (4025 Alexander Lane, Batavia)
At the Batavia Village Fire Department (2401 Old SR 32)

EOWS:
Next to the Monroe Township fire station in New Richmond (Laurel-Lindale Road and Clermontville-Laurel Road)
Across from the Washington Township fire station in Moscow (2817 Mill Street)
On the fire station at 1725 SR 125 in Amelia (just west of SR 132)
Center Street between Walnut Street and Union Street in New Richmond

TBolt:
At the Union Township fire station in Batavia (1141 Old State Route 74)

Penetrator:
On top of the Goshen fire station (1849 State Route 28)

Notes:
The EOWS in Moscow might not be there anymore since a tornado rolled through that area in March.
There's a non-working EOWS in Neville, but I don't remember the exact location. Neville is a very small town though so it shouldn't be hard to find.
