Found a (possibly) operational Sterling Little Giant

Sun Aug 12, 2012 11:44 pm

Today I was driving through the town of Lineville, Alabama when I spotted what appeared to be a Sterling Little Giant warning siren. I wasn't sure, so I turned around, came back, and sure enough, it was definitely a Little Giant all right. And when I looked closer, it seemed to still be hooked up and the power box switch was in the "on" position.

I have a question though. Is it rare? because I don't see these every day.

I want to check something, do you know where in Lineville it is? I live in Alabama and, to me, the only interesting sirens in this state is a mystery siren mounted next to a roof-mounted whelen vortex in Vincent, AL and a Sterling 2v8/3v8 in Clevlend, AL at the town hall. Every where else in Alabama is usually either whelens or 2001s.

It's on Railroad Lane just past the church off of Oakgrove Road.

I will hopefully post pictures soon. :)
