This is directly from the PowerPoint from Nashville.gov:
From March 7th through Project Completion BOTH Systems will be active and either sound may be heard until the last siren is replaced.

I've seen 2 of the new sirens this week. Monday night I was on the W side of town, so checked out the Eclipse at West Meade Elementary School. An Eclipse has also been installed at Granberry Elementary School near my house.

I'm sure that the new system will be much better than what the city has now!

I hope someone gets a good recording of both systems sounding together, that could sound interesting.

I agree with an earlier post, it could be fun if someone gets their hands on the retired ATI Hardware.

This new system is certain to give ATI a black eye.

Wonder if the word has gotten around that Nashville is replacing its ATIs after only 10 years?

I saw the one at Granberry Elementary School yesterday as well and this is the first time Ive seen the Eclipse in person. They are so small compared to the ATI but nevertheless more powerful. I cant wait to see the 508 in person..I heard that thing is huge!

I'm (as are many of us) eagerly awaiting videos in the upcoming months.

These new sirens look to be just the equipment that Nashville needs, as ATI's model HPSS-16/32s have largely let my hometown down. And that said, Nashville never utilized the voice features; upgrading to tone-only gear just made sense.

The 2001s down the road in Mount Juliet, one happening to be off Interstate 40 and TN route 171, seemed louder on test day than the ATIs in Music City... Even as I drove by per chance. Just Sayin'
Still close enough to a Fed Sig 550AT to drive out on test day: First Friday in May - 7PM!

The ATI electronic squeal is not an impressive sound.

It doesn't carry well; too high pitched and not enough "punch" behind it.

Here are some pics from areas around me in South Nashville/Antioch area that have installed the new sirens. These are locations that didnt have any sirens before. After seeing my first 508 today, I was mesmerized by the size of it compared to to 2001 or T-128. Hope you enjoy:
