Mounting the siren below the "tree line" like that seems a bit pointless - in the spring and summer, all the leaves on the trees will partially block the sound from the siren, reducing its effectiveness.

Not really, we have trees down here everywhere and a good siren will blast right through them. If we mounted the sirens above the tree line they would have to 55+ above grade.

Here's another low one. An ASC T-121 at the Lannon, WI fire department. This was actually only a couple miles from where my grandma lived, but never knew about it until recently.

Jeez, I would HATE to be under that thing when it goes off. All we need now is a P-50 mounted that low.

Sorry for the bump, but this Model 5 in Tignall, GA is pretty low.

Here is a low SD-10 compaired to the ground its on:

Street View

Granted this is on a hill so it is not that low to the ares around it, buy the road is level with it and you can stand and look at it eye level. I think this is also decommissioned.

If it isn't decommissioned yet, it will be soon. I didn't realize that thing was buried in the trees like that!

I need to get out to Mt. Echo again sometime soon and get some pictures of that thing before it disappears.

We tried to record it one time and it did not go off and there is a T-128 next to it. I did get some pics of it but I can't find them.

This is probably a better view of the SD-10 by a slight difference.

Okay, I doubt that this 2t22 is still in service as there is a 2001 behind it, but geez!! I hope it wasn't that low when it was active!!
