Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Went on a siren hunt yesterday in Campbell county, saw some MODs, an EOWS-115 in Bellevue, and a T-Bolt in Ft. Thomas. To lazy to post pics right now...

There's a 115 in Bellevue? Where?

Also, on a whim, I decided to search one more time for the siren at AJ Jolly Park/Golf Course near Alexandria, and finally found it this time - behind a tree just west of the parking lot. It's another EOWS*115, which makes a total of 5 in the county.

The 115 in Bellevue is on top the fire station at 616 Poplar Street. And for the A.J. Jolly siren, WOOOOOO!!! FINALLY!

Now, if I believe, on the map there is a siren in Camp Springs, but I cannot in any way find it. One thing I do remember is being down that way for a party and seeing (For this I am positive) a Whelen Omnidirectional (Presumably a 2800) on a tower at the fire station. I should have old pics but I can't seem to dig them up...

Thanks for the info. I don't think that siren is active anymore, since Bellevue and Dayton merged their fire departments years ago.

Also, I found 3 more MOD4016s in Campbell County while playing around with the new Google Maps Engine Light (Google now has 45-degree-angle satellite view in many areas ):

Highland Hills Park, Mayfield Avenue, Fort Thomas
Tower Park Hall, Caramel Manor Drive, Fort Thomas (in the parking lot here - should be visible from River Road as well)
NKU softball field, Softball Road north of Johns Hill Road, Highland Heights

I know there are several others around the NKU campus, but I don't know how many of those are part of the county system. The one by the softball field fills in a nice hole in coverage so that one probably is.

I sent an email to the Campbell County Office of Emergency Management asking about that siren in Bellevue. It's possible it might still be active...

Matter of fact, I got pictures of the Tower Park and Highland Hills Park Modulators yesterday. Also, other than that MOD you found at NKU, there is a 4016 at the Honors House, a 4016 north of a substation by the dorms on Campbell Drive, a 2008 across from a Krogers by an old dorm, a DSA on the side of the Testing Services Building, a Model 2 near the health building on a red roof, and another Model 2 on what I believe to be a gym. I don't believe the Model 2s are active. My cousin who works there says they test with the county. For the rest of the county, there is an active Model 2 on the Post Office in Melbourne and an inactive Fedelcode Model 5 on the fire station in Highland Heights. As some side notes, the 115 in Bellevue is included on the map on the EMA page, and I feels like there should be another siren in Newport...

I looked up the Camp Springs FD on Google and didn't see a siren anywhere in that area. It would make sense for a siren to be in that area though.

Thanks for the info on the NKU sirens. I'll have to add those to my map since they test with the county. Maybe those are part of the county system after all.

Are you sure that Model 2 in Melbourne is active? There's a MOD at the park there.

If you think that 115 in Bellevue is active, I'll add it to my map. It's hard to make a lot of sense out of that map from the EMA.

I'm pretty sure the Model 2 is active, I don't think the MOD at Pendery and the 115 in Silver Grove cover Melbourne.

It's not on their map though, and I don't remember it being on the list of sirens I got from Alexandria's website years ago (that's how I found most of them initially - Alexandria used to have a complete list of them on their website).

Glad to see you guys are keeping Clermont County covered! It's a bit pathetic that a local company can install sirens faster than a larger company like ANS...
