Video - what happens when a diaphone runs out of air.

Tue Jul 02, 2013 2:41 am

Apparently this diaphone's control circuit was damaged by Hurricane Sandy. This belongs in the video section, but it isn't technically a siren video.

Hah, that's neat. The Diaphone actually sounds like a siren on it's continual tone.

Sounds like a DC siren with dying batteries.

Reminds me of a Thunderbolt for so odd reason.

It sounds like it is hooked up to a Very Large air rezivuar/tank since it is able to produce a sound for such a long time!

Yeah, I've never heard a Diaphone in continuous mode run for that long at once. Either that, or is has an air compressor or pump hooked to it.

As we all know, Diaphones use a LOT of air when activated. I once saw a video many years ago of a diaphone hooked up to a propane tank filled with air! That would probably have enough pressure to make it run for over a minute. Maybe this diaphone has the same setup.
