Whelen Controller: Alert Tone Pitch

Sun Jul 21, 2013 2:52 am

I was looking around on YT and seen these videos:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWtgDctssjI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2vcBhiiIok
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQmV6iZrnU4

Compare the pitch to these:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j01ap-Q5OvY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_3-Mggc5oM

I can hear the windown glitch on the third video.
What do you think? Does anyone know how old they are?

The Glastonbury CT Engine Co 2 2902 and another located at Engine Co 1 were installed in 2006 and are among the 1st installs on the 2900 series which is why it uses the older 485hz tone card. I'm not sure as to exactly why they make that odd wind down, probably has something to do with how the tone was recorded at the factory.
