New Orleans siren locations?

Sun Sep 08, 2013 2:57 am

I did a quick search and found these topics:
https://www.airraidsirens.com/forums/vi ... ew+Orleans
https://www.airraidsirens.com/forums/vi ... ans#p57612
https://www.airraidsirens.com/forums/vi ... ew+Orleans
However, Brendan and I are curious, are there any other locations of sirens in New Orleans?

I just ran a quick fire department sweep. Looks like Katrina either took out most of the fire sirens or caused their demise through station reconstruction. The only siren I could find was a 5/7 with a heavily damaged housing at Avondale's VFD.

There's a video of a Fedelcode in the industrial area of New orleans on youtube. I also have some photos taken in Downtown New Orleans around 1963 that show a couple of guys standing in front of a Thunderbolt. I've yet to find out where the siren is (or was). I also have a 60's photo of 2 guys looking at a "longleg" Model 2.

There's also a T-135 on the UNO campus. I think it's on the library...
