Hope this helped.
What do you mean the 2001 was to be a "new siren?" That is a circa-2004 (+/- a year or two) 2001. That 2001 was not new and couldn't have been new and was not going to replace anything in the Exelon system at this time. And it was a part of the Exelon system as was established earlier in this thread by people who'd know.

So, no offense, but you had to have made that up, gotten turned around, or not communicated your point clearly. As has been established, the entire Exelon Three Mile Island system was replaced with a T-128 system as installed by ANC. Exelon paid to have sirens replaced at most of its nuke plants (and I think ASC/ANC won all of them). The TMI system had 2001s in it. And if you meant to say someone else bought that 2001 for another purpose and is being superseded, please indicate that. But both Austin and Ian established quite accurately what happened.

(Austin-burns post also contains many sources and accuracies).
Im sorry, BUT YOUR WRONG, the 2001 was to be a New siren, but like i said, it Did not work, so they replaced it with a T-128, No offense, but you dont know what your talking about. And why am i in this? Ian's was basically the same thing, no no need to fight over.

As far as I am aware, the 2001s replaced old broken Cyclones and P-10s in a piecemeal fashion. Later, the T-128s came as a systemwide upgrade. They had no intention whatsoever of conducting a mass replacement of the entire system with 2001s.

So, in this case, it would appear that you are the one who doesn't know what they're talking about.

No offense intended.

Sources?

I've sourced multiple documents, Austin sourced multiple documents, VASirens just sourced multiple posters in the know right above this post, all of which support my point.

So, no, unless you have a more advantageous, better stated source than can override an overwhelming amount of evidence backing-up what is said in this thread (and what Ian said is simply that the 2001 was for TMI then replaced by the T-128), I'm afraid you're wrong. The 2001 is being replaced as part of the TMI upgrade. A 2001-SRNB would not stand broken or unused for 7-9 years in a nuclear zone (indicated by the words "was to be" as in it was installed and never used). And if it was broken, you don't abandon a brand new siren for that reason. There's warranties for that reason.

What? That makes no sense. You're not being clear if you're suggesting I said what you said because that's definitely not the case as your writing stands. I've said the same thing in two replies. The first one you called me wrong, the second you're saying it's what you said. I'm soooooooo confused at what point you are trying to make.

So, if it was going to be a "new siren" and ended up not working then why do you think they would buy a new one instead of contacting Federal about the issue?

This topic is done... It has veered completely away from the original topic. I would suggest that members who are proven wrong and what not should just admit they were not right. It shows you've learned something you didn't know and that you're mature enough to realize when someone else knows better. This topic is now locked.

Spreading baseless and ridiculous claims like this will buy you a quick ticket on the ban list here.
