Connecting Air Raid Sire to motorolla Minitor V

Sat Oct 26, 2013 4:54 pm

Hello,

i am new to the forum and recently joined as i hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am looking to connect a 110v air raid siren to my motorolla minitor 5 base unit. I am not an expert in this by far and hoping someone here may have tried something similar. What i am thinking is using a 1-60 sec relay so when the minitor is triped it would provide 30- 60 seconds of 110v power to the siren and then shut off. iam not sure where to connect to the minitor base but i do know it has a 3.5mm external speaker port. This port should energize somehow when minitor is trip i am just not sure how much voltage or what to use for a relay any ideas?

Thanks
Bob

You need to get the amplified base charger for your payer first as it has the replay output. You can then rig up a simple time and power relay to trigger the siren. Is this for a large siren?

I wanted to do the same myself to a MIN 3/4. As Jason said you need the amplified charger. From there I got lost when trying to figure out how to do it lol
