Dual FS Thunderbolt 1000Ts Toluca, IL

Thu Dec 05, 2013 11:40 pm

Here is the main star of this past Tuesday. I stood between 2 1000Ts, both about 800 ft away from the camera. The audio recorded is just astounding. The 1st test done by Marshall County is for 3 minutes and 4 Thunderbolt 1000Ts can be heard. Then the 2nd test done by the Toluca Fire Department is for 1 minute, and the Cyclone in downtown joins in. I can honestly say, this is the best siren test I have, and maybe ever will record.

The 1000T shown in the video seems to be on Chopper 4 with a 208V motor, while the second closest one is solid Level 4, the 3rd most prominent is on Chopper Level 2.

Sounds great! I like the fact that all four Thunderbolts were installed in 2007. The coverage is a little overkill, though.

Is there any way you could get a recording of all four Tbolts from about a half a mile away? The wind-up and wind-down would be insane!

Thunderbolt while a medium to high level maitenace siren when taken care of will last a very long time, just do annual oil changes & periodic belt changes.

So is there any place in town that's quieter than 100dB when the sirens are all running? ;)

I suppose everybody wanted to be able to hear the sirens inside their houses.
