Re: Yatesville, GA Thunderbolt installation

Oh. Well then I must ask about my thunderbolt 1000. It was installed in Spokane in the 1960s and it has that little "bar" in the port. You know that one in the middle of the port. It currently has a single tone chopper and had it when it served Waldport. The question that just opened up though is was it originally supposed to be a single tone or did they switch it when it went from Spokane to Waldport? Like i said it has that little horizontal "bar" in the middle of the port but I don't know if that was only built on dual tone models or if it was also made on single tone ones... Obviously both choppers can still be used regardless.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

Only the early model tbolts had the single slot cap. From the 5M onwards all tbolts got a dual slot cap.

To answer your earlier question, yes this siren was a single tone originally. The chopper was dead so I just swapped in a dual tone chopper. Besides I'm not that big of a fan of the 1000, The T is where it's at.

For those of you who might have forgotten, here is the same Thunderbolt when we removed it Norman. Photos courtesy of Raymond W.
