The guy in the news story (Ed BUNS??) said "they still do a good job, they're just not the technology we have today". In other words....the HOR works fine, it's just not "NEW".CincyTboltman wrote:Maybe the motor burned out or the power is shut off to it.mrboojay wrote:That is a bummer. When someone says that about a siren system I now reply against it with three words: Upson County Georgiagoldfinch wrote:The guy in the news story (Ed BUNS??) said "they still do a good job, they're just not the technology we have today". In other words....the HOR works fine, it's just not "NEW".
Nobody will. very time a "rare" siren comes up for this debate, nobody ever goes through with it, because either they forget about it, or the city thinks it's worth its weight in gold.echo1030 wrote:Somebody should look in to obtaining the HOR
Either way, it makes no sense to have a 2001 and 3 508s to cover 22 square miles. If they think people can't hear the sirens now, just wait until the new ones get installed...Federal Signal Ohio manufacturers representative Craig Huth, who has worked closely with the city of Hamilton for years on their warning signal system and was involved in writing the grant, said that the new sirens will cover a much bigger range of area than the city’s older models. “The new sirens are Model 508, whose coverage at 70 dBc (decibels relative to the carrier, or the strength of a signal at radio frequency) is 7,300 feet,” he said. The older sirens probably had about half to a third of the coverage, he added.
Well, there goes anyone else with hopes and dreams of getting it.TurbopropPilot wrote:I will call Monday to see if I can get the scoop on what will happen to the siren. I am behind Remington on this one, it may be a complete lost cause.
None of your business.mrboojay wrote:What did you talk about? Is he going to try to get it?
