Both Hudson and Madison Twp. still have their 1003 Thunderbolts. Morenci, decided to replace their 1003 with a 2001SRN when they moved into their new fire station. I suspect that West Shore Services took it down, and it went back to the infamous graveyard in Allendale, Michigan.r4tbolts wrote:I know Hudson has a T-bolt or did and also Madison Twp. (I think that is the name south of Adrian). Where is the 4th t-bolt in Lenawee Co located ? I'll put it on my list for a siren hunt next time I get out that way.
it's located on the north side of the intersection of Townley Highway, and Manitou Road at Manitou Beach, which is on the south side of Devils Lake.Toledo 2t22 wrote:Wow I must be blind. I searched the area around Manitou Beach one day on the way home from Lansing and found nothing. Where is this one located at? Perhaps I could swing through and grab some pictures before it comes down.
Thanks for the info on the 4th t-bolt.500AT wrote:Other sirens in the same area include:
- Model 5: On US-12, west of Wheaton Highway, on the north side of the road.
- Unknown siren: Saunders Lumber Company on Saunders Street, west of US-127.
- ASC Tempest: Downtown Addison.
Isn't the siren at US-12 and Eagan Hwy. a Federal STL-10? I can remember the Irish Hills FD, ordered one of the very last STL-10s ever made in 1982. It was on the north side of US-12, about 1-2 miles west of the Irish Hills Towers.r4tbolts wrote: Some other sirens in NW Lenawee Co. if still there is a STH10 Eagan Hwy/US 12 and a Model 5 at the Irish Hills Fire Station (south side of Wampers Lake). Both sirens about a mile apart.
Very well could be an STL-10. It's been a while since I've been there. I did a Google street view yesterday and it is still there but kind a blurry and hard to make out if it's a STL or STH. Looks like it is tilting some on top of the pole. I am sure it is the one you refer to ordered by Irish Hills FD. The siren is at the back edge of the Church parking lot west side of Egan & US-12. That siren has been there for as long as I can remember.500AT wrote:Isn't the siren at US-12 and Eagan Hwy. a Federal STL-10?
