Who makes the European type Hormann horns

Mon Oct 06, 2014 5:01 pm

Hi

I've seen a few places in europe have the "hormann" type horns. I think that there is probably one manufacturer and everyone buys from them. Do you know who makes the horns for Hormann ?

On a side not, did you know that you can hear clear voice 90 degrees off center. The speakers can give 360 degree coverage. I didn't believe it until I heard it.

Regards

I've been wondering the same thing. Here's something interesting: Hörmann's first electronic sirens utilized the projector horns from their later HLS series sirens and branded as the ECL series. From what I can gather they just stuffed the drivers onto the ends of the horns at first, then they constructed them to be a bit more modular like the ones in your pic before coming out with the ECN and ECI series sirens. 150 Watt drivers just like the ones they produce now. Up to 1200 Watts.
